Cindy’s Beaded Buttons and Purse

This is Quirky Weaver 1 – Cindy.

Kat and I have registered for the Bead Journal Project 08 and I’m thrilled about being a part of something so amazing. I think I kind of made Kat sign up for it, but once she saw it, she was excited. We’re both new to blogging – but not to beading or weaving or quilting. I’ve been checking out different blogs related to the BJP08 and am learning so much from them.

To warm up for the BJP08 – I’ve done some beaded buttons. I’ve been so excited about these buttons – and am having a blast with them. Here are a few pictures.

If I don’t have some bead embroidery in progress now – I get cranky.

I’ve been working on a woven piece to have for CopperLoom class – a purse. It may be a bit over the top, but I’ve had fun with it. I have a picture in progress and the finished piece.

The picture of the piece in progress shows the loom built out of pvc pipe. Copper has gone up in price, and we’re trying out the pvc to see what it will take. It’s not as sturdy as copper, but it holds up just fine for small pieces. Less than 10 inches in width and it seems to work. This one is 7 inches wide, and 16 inches long.

Originally there was a beaded button for it, but it was a bit too much…..
